Abstract
A system or apparatus may include a container configured to collect fluid from a tissue site and regulate negative-pressure from a negative-pressure source. In some embodiments, the container may include a regulator that receives negative pressure directly from an unregulated negative-pressure source, such as a wall-suction outlet. The regulator may regulate down the pressure delivered to a collection chamber in the container, which may in turn be connected to a tissue site.
Claims29
An apparatus for providing negative-pressure therapy to a tissue site, the apparatus comprising:
- a container comprising a first fluid port, a second fluid port, and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the second fluid port;
- a bellows disposed within the container, the bellows defining a negative-pressure chamber fluidly coupled to the first fluid port;
- a spring biasing the bellows to expand;
- a regulator having a regulator chamber that is integrated into the container;
- a first passage between the regulator chamber and the negative-pressure chamber;
- a second passage between the regulator chamber and the collection chamber;
- and
- a baffle disposed between the second fluid port and the second passage;
- wherein the regulator is configured to regulate negative pressure through the first passage.
An apparatus for providing negative-pressure therapy to a tissue site, the apparatus comprising:
- a container comprising a canister, a lid, a first fluid port, a second fluid port, and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the second fluid port;
- a bellows disposed within the container and coupled to the lid, the bellows defining a negative-pressure chamber fluidly coupled to the first fluid port;
- a spring biasing the bellows to expand;
- a regulator having a regulator chamber that is integrated into the container;
- a first passage between the regulator chamber and the negative-pressure chamber;
- and
- a second passage between the regulator chamber and the collection chamber;
- wherein the regulator is configured to regulate negative pressure through the first passage.
An apparatus for providing negative-pressure therapy to a tissue site, the apparatus comprising:
- a container comprising a canister, a lid, a first fluid port, a second fluid port, and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the second fluid port;
- a bellows disposed within the container, the bellows defining a negative-pressure chamber fluidly coupled to the first fluid port;
- a spring biasing the bellows to expand;
- a regulator having a regulator chamber that is integrated into the container;
- a first passage between the regulator chamber and the negative-pressure chamber;
- and
- a second passage between the regulator chamber and the collection chamber;
- wherein the regulator is configured to regulate negative pressure through the first passage;
- and
- wherein the bellows and the regulator are integral to the lid.
