Bioabsorbable tissue support adjunctive to tissue piercing

A device for support of a puncture in a tissue, said device comprising:

• a bioabsorbable tissue support comprising:
• an tubular elongated sleeve having a cross-sectional shape and a thickness defined between an inner surface and an outer surface of the tubular elongated sleeve, wherein the tubular elongated sleeve is configured to contact an inner surface of said puncture;
• and
• a cavity extending through said elongated sleeve for receiving an earring or an identification device;
• wherein the tubular elongated sleeve is uniformly made from at least one bioabsorbable material throughout the entire thickness of the tubular elongated sleeve, the bioabsorbable material comprising a polymer;
• wherein the tubular elongated sleeve is configured to extend through the tissue and remains after said at least one bioabsorbable material is absorbed through at least a skin of a subject;
• and
• wherein one or more of said at least one bioabsorbable material comprises a functional compound mixed within the polymer for absorption through the skin as the bioabsorbable material is absorbed, the functional compound selected from a group consisting of therapeutic medical chemicals, anesthetic materials, dye materials, and antiproliferative agents.
