## Abstract

Compositions and methods useful for treating and/or preventing a Zika virus infection are provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the nucleic acid encoding the Zika virus E protein has a sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:2.

### Claim 2

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, further comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus precursor membrane (prM) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the nucleic acid encoding Zika virus prM has a sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO: 3.

### Claim 3

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, further comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus precursor membrane (prM) protein or fragment thereof and a nucleic acid sequence encoding Zika virus capsid (C) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the nucleic acid encoding Zika virus capsid (C) protein has a sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:4.

### Claim 4

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the genome of the recombinant VSV has a nucleic acid sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:5.

### Claim 5

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the genome of the recombinant VSV has a nucleic acid sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:6.

### Claim 6

A recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) comprising in its genome a nucleic acid sequence encoding a Zika virus envelope (E) protein or fragment thereof, wherein the genome of the recombinant VSV has a nucleic acid sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:7.
