Abstract
A mobile communication system which can transfer information on the number of packets counted up until then by a base station of a mobile source, to a base station of a mobile target, even when a terminal performs a handover. UE moves to a Target eNode B, but a Source eNode B decides to perform a handover, and the Source eNode B includes information on the number of packets counted up until then in a Handover Request message to the Target eNode B, so as to notify the Target eNode B. After receiving a Handover Confirm message from the UE, the Target eNode B includes information on the number of packets received from the Source eNode B in a Handover Complete message transmitted to a CN Node, so as to notify the CN Node.
Claims12
A base station for communicating with a wireless terminal, the base station comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive a release request message to request a release of the base station from another base station during a handover of the wireless terminal;
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to the another base station, a report indicating at least one Radio Access Bearer identification (RAB ID), at least one first information, and at least one second information, each of the at least one first information and the at least one second information corresponding to one of the at least one RAB ID, each of the at least one first information indicating a volume of downlink data that the base station transmitted to the wireless terminal, and each of the at least one second information corresponding to a time period in which the volume of downlink data was counted;
- and
- wherein the another base station transmits the at least one first information to a core network node during the handover.

A communication method comprising, during a handover:
- receiving during the handover of a wireless terminal, by a receiver of the base station from another base station, a release request message to request a release of the base station;
- and
- transmitting, from the base station to the another base station, a report indicating at least one Radio Access Bearer identification (RAB ID), at least one first information, and at least one second information, each of the at least one first information and the at least one second information corresponding to one of the at least one RAB ID, each of the at least one first information indicating a volume of downlink data that the base station transmitted to a wireless terminal, and each of the at least one second information corresponding to a time period in which the volume of downlink data was counted;
- wherein the another base station transmits, to a core network node during the handover, the at least one first information.

A wireless terminal, comprising:
- a transceiver configured to communicate with a first base station;
- and
- a controller configured to perform one or more operations of a handover of the wireless terminal,
- wherein the first base station comprises:
- a receiver configured to receive a release request message to request a release of the first base station from a second base station during the handover of the wireless terminal;
- and
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to the second base station, a report indicating at least one Radio Access Bearer identification (RAB ID), at least one first information, and at least one second information, each of the at least one first information and the at least one second information corresponding to one of the at least one RAB ID, each of the at least one first information indicating a volume of downlink data that the first base station transmitted to the wireless terminal, and each of the at least one second information corresponding to a time period in which the volume of downlink data was counted;
- and
- wherein the second base station transmits the at least one first information to a core network node during the handover.

- a first base station comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive a release request message to request a release of the first base station from the second base station during a handover of a wireless terminal;
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to the second base station, a report indicating at least one Radio Access Bearer identification (RAB ID), at least one first information, and at least one second information, each of the at least one first information and the at least one second information corresponding to one of the at least one RAB ID, each of the at least one first information indicating a volume of downlink data that the first base station transmitted to the wireless terminal, and each of the at least one second information corresponding to a time period in which the volume of downlink data was counted;
- and
- a second base station comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive, from the first base station, report indicating at least one RAB ID, the at least one first information, and the at least one second information, and
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to a core network node during the handover, the at least one first information.
