A method for displaying computed tomography (CT) images and corresponding coronary vessel information including images rendered from the CT images, and identification and measurements of lumen, vessel walls and plaque of coronary vessels determined from the CT images by image processing, the method comprising:
- storing computer-executable instructions, a set of CT images of a patient's coronary vessels, and vessel information associated with the set of CT images, the vessel information including coronary vessel labels and information of stenosis, plaque, vascular morphology, and locations of segments of the coronary vessels on a non-transitory computer readable medium;
- generating and displaying in a user interface a first panel including an artery tree comprising a three-dimensional representation of coronary vessels using the coronary vessel information, the artery tree depicting coronary vessels identified in the set of CT images and depicting coronary vessel labels;
- receiving a first input in the first panel indicating a selection of a coronary vessel in the artery tree;
- in response to the first input, generating and displaying on the user interface a second panel illustrating at least a portion of the selected coronary vessel in straightened multiplanar (SMPR) vessel views based using the coronary vessel information, the SMPR vessel views adjacently positioned to one another in the second panel;
- generating and displaying on the user interface a third panel showing a cross-sectional view of the selected coronary vessel using the coronary vessel information, the cross-sectional view generated using the set of CT images, wherein locations along the SMPR vessel views are associated with a CT image in the set of CT images stored on the non-transitory computer readable medium such that a selection of a particular location along the coronary vessel in the SMPR vessel views displays the associated CT image in the cross-sectional view in the third panel;
- receiving a second input on the user interface indicating a first location along the selected coronary vessel in one of the SMPR vessel views;
- and
- in response to the second input, displaying the CT image, in the set of CT images, that is associated with the first location along the selected coronary vessel, in a cross-sectional view in the third panel,
- wherein the method is performed by one or more computer hardware processors executing the computer-executable instructions on the non-transitory computer storage medium.
