Abstract
An eyewear device that adjusts aspects of a displayed object as a function of a user's eyeglass prescription. A detector identifies object edges for displayed far objects. A correction chart stores brightness corrections as a function of eyeglass prescriptions. The object edges are brightened as a function of the brightness corrections to sharpen objects displayed for a user with nearsightedness and/or farsightedness.
Claims18
Eyewear, comprising:
- a frame having a first side and a second side;
- a first temple adjacent the first side of the frame;
- a see-through display supported by the frame and configured to display an object having edges;
- an electronic component configured to control an aspect of the displayed object as a function of an eyeglass prescription of a user's eye;
- and
- memory storing a display correction chart including brightness corrections as a function of a plurality of eyeglass prescriptions, wherein the electronic component is configured to adjust the brightness of the object edges as a function of one of the brightness corrections.
A method of configuring eyewear, the eyewear having a frame, a temple adjacent the frame, a see-through display supported by the frame and configured to display an object having edges, an electronic component configured to control an aspect of the displayed object, and memory storing a display correction chart including brightness corrections as a function of a plurality of eyeglass prescriptions, the method comprising:
- determining an eyeglass prescription of a user's eye;
- controlling an aspect of the displayed object as a function of the eyeglass prescription of the user's eye;
- and
- adjusting the brightness of the edges of the displayed object as a function of one of the brightness corrections.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing program code which, when executed, is operative to cause a computing device to perform the steps of:
- determining an eyeglass prescription of a user's eye;
- controlling an aspect of an object having an edge displayed by a see-through display of an eyewear device as a function of the eyeglass prescription of the user's eye;
- and
- adjusting the brightness of the object edge as a function of a brightness correction stored in a display correction chart as a function of the eyeglass prescription.
