Abstract
In some embodiments, a lighting assembly including at least one light-emitting device positioned within a housing is disclosed, wherein the housing is designed to allow an ambient environment to pass into the housing and transfer heat from the at least one light-emitting device. The light-emitting area of the light-emitting device may be sealed from the ambient environment. In some embodiments, the housing may include at least one recess, port, or other opening configured to allow a liquid or gas to promote heat transfer from the light-emitting device. In some embodiments, a vehicle, a marine system, or other systems may include at least one lighting assembly as contemplated herein.
Claims42
A lighting system, comprising:
- a plurality of housings;
- a plurality of chip-on-board light-emitting devices, each of the plurality comprising:
- a substrate comprising metal;
- a light-emitting area;
- at least one lens element positioned adjacent to each of the plurality of housings;
- a reflector element positioned between one or more of the plurality of chip-on-board light-emitting devices and the at least one lens element;
- a voltage converter configured to operate one or more of the plurality of chip-on-board light-emitting devices;
- wherein:
- each of the plurality of chip-on-board light-emitting devices is positioned at least partially within one of the plurality of housings;
- each of the plurality of housings comprises metal;
- the voltage converter is configured to provide a power output of at least 50 watts;
- the plurality of chip-on-board light-emitting devices are sealed from the ambient environment.
A lighting assembly, comprising:
- a plurality of housings;
