A kit comprising separate chewable compositions corresponding to the first and second regions, and methods for whitening teeth using the chewable composition are also provided. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A chewable composition for teeth-whitening, comprising an anhydrous chewing gum base having water content of about 1% or less, an anhydrous fruit acid, carbamide peroxide having water content of about 2% or less, and one or more gum additives, wherein, the ratio of gum base:carbamide peroxide:fruit acid, in percent weight relative to the composition, is about 10-50:1-20:0.5-8, and the one or more gum additives are present in an amount sufficient to reach 100% of the weight of the composition. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The chewable composition of claim 1, wherein the fruit acid is citric acid. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The chewable composition of claim 1, further comprising glycerin. ### Claim 4 (depends on 3) The chewable composition of claim 3, wherein the ratio of glycerin:gum base:carbamide peroxide:fruit acid, in percent weight relative to the composition, is about 0.5-5:10-50:1-20:0.5-8. ### Claim 5 (depends on 4) The chewable composition of claim 4 wherein, the ratio of glycerin:gum base:carbamide peroxide:fruit acid in percent weight relative to the composition is about 1-3:20-35:5-15:0.5-4. ### Claim 6 (depends on 5) The chewable composition of claim 5, having a water content of about 2% or less. ### Claim 7 (depends on 3) The chewable composition of claim 3, wherein the fruit acid is citric acid. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The chewable composition of claim 1 having a mass of about 0.2 g to about 10 g. ### Claim 9 (depends on 3) The chewable composition of claim 3 further comprising precipitated amorphous silica, wherein the ratio of precipitated amorphous silica:glycerin or:gum base:carbamide peroxide:fruit acid, in percent weight relative to the composition, is about 0.5-5:0.5-5:10-50:1-20:0.5-8. ### Claim 10 (depends on 1) A chewable composition for teeth-whitening, comprising a first and a second region separated by a barrier layer, the first region comprising the chewable composition of claim 1; and the second region comprising a chewable composition comprising a source of bicarbonate ion, a gum base, and one or more gum additives, wherein the source of bicarbonate ion and the gum base, respectively, are present in a ratio of about 5-30:15-50 in percent weight relative to the second region, and the one or more gum additives are present in an amount sufficient to reach 100% of the weight of the second region. ### Claim 11 (depends on 10) The chewable composition of claim 10, wherein barrier layer comprises one or more components selected from the group consisting of lipids, proteins, carbohydrates, synthetic elastomers, polymers, wax, fat, and a gum. ### Claim 12 (depends on 10) The chewable composition of claim 10, wherein the source of bicarbonate ion is sodium bicarbonate. ### Claim 13 (depends on 10) The chewable composition of claim 10, wherein the second region further comprises a metal carbonate at about 0.001-1% of the weight of the second region. ### Claim 14 (depends on 10) The chewable composition of claim 10, wherein the fruit acid is citric acid. ### Claim 15 (depends on 4) A chewable composition for teeth-whitening, comprising a first and a second region separated by a barrier layer, the first region comprising the chewable composition of claim 4, and the second region comprising a chewable composition comprising a source of bicarbonate ion, a gum base, and one or more gum additives, wherein the source of bicarbonate ion and the gum base, respectively, are present in a ratio of about 5-30:15-50 in percent weight relative to the second region, and the one or more gum additives are present in an amount necessary to reach 100% of the weight of the second region. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The chewable composition of claim 15, wherein barrier layer comprises one or more components selected from the group consisting of lipids, proteins, carbohydrates, synthetic elastomers, polymers, wax, fat, and a gum. ### Claim 17 (depends on 15) The chewable composition of claim 15, wherein the source of bicarbonate ion is sodium bicarbonate. ### Claim 18 (depends on 15) The chewable composition of claim 15, wherein the second region further comprises a metal carbonate at about 0.001-1% of the weight of the second region. ### Claim 19 (depends on 15) The teeth-whitening chewable composition of claim 15, wherein the fruit acid is citric acid. ### Claim 20 (depends on 9) A chewable composition for teeth-whitening, comprising a first and a second region separated by a barrier layer, the first region comprising the chewable composition of claim 9, and the second region comprising a chewable composition comprising a source of bicarbonate ion, a gum base, and one or more gum additives, wherein the source of bicarbonate ion and the gum base, respectively, are present in a ratio of about 5-30:15-50 in percent weight relative to the second region, and the one or more gum additives are present in an amount necessary to reach 100% of the weight of the second region.
