Abstract
A user-wearable fluorescence based visualization system comprising a multi-light lamp assembly that provides for the selected output of light using multiple light emitting sources, wherein the outputted light may be tailored to generate response wavelength by the interaction of the emitted light and a tissue illuminated by the emitted light, through the process of fluorescence, and a viewing system that allows a practitioner view the fluorescent light generated by the tissue, and distinguish between healthy and diseased tissues.
Claims26
A vision enhancement system comprising:
- a light assembly comprising:
- a plurality of lighting elements, said plurality of lighting elements being arranged concentrically about a central axis extending from said light assembly, wherein each of said plurality of lighting elements is oriented to project a light generated by a corresponding one of said plurality of lighting elements to a common point along said central axis, each of said lighting elements comprises;
- at least one lighting source, said at least one lighting source configured to:
- emit a light, wherein said emitted light is at least one of:
- a white light and at least one colored light;
- an electronic circuit comprising:
- a switch;
- and
- a switch control, said switch control configured to:
- control said switch to apply a voltage to at least one of said plurality of lighting elements;
- a viewing device configured to:
- view a second light, said second light comprising:
- at least one of:
- said emitted light and a light generated by an interaction of said emitted light with an object, said viewing device comprising:
- a filtering system, said filtering system configured to:
- attenuate a light within a wavelength band of said second light below a known wavelength value, wherein said known wavelength value is within a wavelength band associated with said emitted at least one colored light, and
- allow passage of a light within said wavelength band of said second light above said known value, wherein a wavelength of said light generated by said interaction of said emitted light with said object is greater than said known value.
A visualization system comprising:
- a power source configured to:
- output a voltage:
- a light assembly comprising:
- a plurality of lighting elements oriented circularly about a central axis substaintially perpendicular to said light assembly, wherein light emitted by each of said plurality of lighting elements converges at substantially a same point along said central axis, each of said plurality of lighting elements comprising:
- a lens assembly, said lens assembly comprising:
- at least one objective lens;
- and
- a lighting source configured to:
- emit one of:
- a colored light and a white light, wherein selected ones of said plurality of lighting elements comprising:
- a transmission filter, said transmission filter configured to:
- define a wavelength range of said emitted light;
- a circuit configured to:
- receive said voltage;
- and a switch configured to:
- selectively apply said received voltage to said
- plurality of lighting elements;
- and
- a viewing system configured to:
- view a second light, wherein said second light comprises at least one of:
- a reflection of said emitted light and a light generated by a tissue illuminated by said emitted light, said viewing system comprising:
- an eyewear comprising:
- a plurality of lenses configured to:
- view said second light, each of said plurality of lenses comprising:
- a filtering system configured to:
- attenuate said second light in a first wavelength range, wherein said first wavelength range is associated with said emitted light;
- and
- allow passage of said second light in a second wavelength range, wherein said second wavelength range includes at least said light generated by said tissue.
A vision enhancement system comprising:
- a light assembly comprising:
- a plurality of lighting elements, wherein said plurality of lighting elements are arranged linearly along a line substantially perpendicular to a central axis extending from said light assembly, wherein each of said lighting elements is oriented to project a light generated by a corresponding one of said at least one light element to a common point along said central axis, each of said lighting elements comprising:
- at least one lighting source, said at least one lighting source configured to:
- emit a light, wherein said emitted light is at least one of:
- a white light and at least one colored light;
- an electronic circuit comprising:
- a switch;
- and
- a switch control, said switch control configured to:
- control said switch to apply a voltage to at least one of said plurality of lighting elements;
