A sheet processing system, comprising:

• a sheet processing apparatus that successively processes a plurality of processing-target sheets forming a sheet group, the sheet group comprising at least one sheet set, the at least one sheet set comprising a first sheet that is given first recognition information and a second sheet, the first sheet being not a banknote, the second sheet being a banknote, the first recognition information being information for identifying an attribute of the second sheet;
• and
• a terminal, wherein
• the sheet processing apparatus comprises:
• a sensor that obtains the first recognition information from one of the plurality of processing-target sheets;
• and
• a controller that generates second recognition information associated with the one of the plurality of processing-target sheets when the sensor fails to obtain the first recognition information from the one of the plurality of processing-target sheets and a predetermined condition is satisfied, the second recognition information being alternative to the first recognition information that is failed to be obtained by the sensor, and
• the terminal is communicably connected to the sheet processing apparatus and obtains the second recognition information.
