Abstract
A UE may receive, from a base station, a message requesting BSI. The UE may determine a number N of BSI reports to send to the base station, and each BSI report may indicate a beam index corresponding to a beam and a received power associated with the beam. The UE may send, to the base station, N BSI reports based on the message requesting BSI. The UE may receive, from the base station, a set of signals through a set of beams, and determine the received power for each signal of the set of signals received through each beam of the set of beams, each received power may be associated with a beam of the set of beams.
Claims31
A method of wireless communication by a base station, the method comprising:
- determining a number N greater than zero of beam state information (BSI) reports;
- sending, to a user equipment (UE), a message requesting BSI, wherein the message indicates the determined number N of BSI reports requested from the UE;
- sending, to the UE, a set of signals through a set of beams;
- and
- receiving, from the UE, N BSI reports based on the indicated number N of BSI reports, wherein each of the N BSI reports indicates at least one beam index corresponding to at least one beam of the set of beams and at least one received power associated with the at least one beam.
An apparatus for wireless communication by a base station, the apparatus comprising:
- means for determining a number N greater than zero of beam state information (BSI) reports;
- means for sending, to a user equipment (UE), a message requesting BSI, wherein the message indicates the number N of BSI reports requested from the UE;
- means for sending, to the UE, a set of signals through a set of beams;
- and
- means for receiving, from the UE, N BSI reports based on the indicated number N of BSI reports, each of the N BSI reports indicating at least one beam index corresponding to at least one beam of the set of beams and a received power associated with the at least one beam.
An apparatus for wireless communication by a base station, the apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
- determine a number N greater than zero of beam state information (BSI) reports;
- send, to a user equipment (UE), a message requesting BSI, wherein the message indicates the number N greater than or equal to zero of BSI reports requested from the UE;
- send, to the UE, a set of signals through a set of beams;
- and
- receive, from the UE, N BSI reports based on the indicated number N of BSI reports, each of the N BSI reports indicating at least one beam index corresponding to at least one beam of the set of beams and a received power associated with the at least one beam.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code for wireless communication by a base station, the code when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to:
- determine a number N greater than zero of beam state information (BSI) reports;
- send, to a user equipment (UE), a message requesting BSI, wherein the message indicates the number N greater than or equal to zero of BSI reports requested from the UE;
- send, to the UE, a set of signals through a set of beams;
- and
- receive, from the UE, N BSI reports based on the indicated number N of BSI reports, each of the N BSI reports indicating at least one beam index corresponding to at least one beam of the set of beams and a received power associated with the at least one beam.
