Abstract
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article may comprise an absorbent article and an auxiliary article.
Claims20
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article, comprising:
- an absorbent article comprising a garment facing layer and an absorbent assembly;
- an auxiliary article comprising a sensor;
- wherein the sensor is capable of being oriented externally adjacent the garment facing layer when the auxiliary article is fitted over the absorbent article, and wherein the auxiliary article does not comprise an absorbent assembly;
- wherein the sensor is not physically attached to the absorbent article;
- and
- wherein the sensor is configured to sense a first change of a first property within the absorbent article;
- and
- wherein the sensor is capable of predicting an incontinent event.
5 more elements
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article, comprising:
- an absorbent article comprising a garment facing layer of a vapor permeable, liquid impermeable backsheet and an absorbent assembly comprising an absorbent core;
- an auxiliary article comprising a first sensor and a second sensor, wherein the auxiliary article is a distinct article from the absorbent article, the auxiliary article adapted to fit over the absorbent article, and wherein the auxiliary article does not comprise an absorbent assembly;
- wherein the auxiliary article comprises front and back waist regions, and a crotch region;
- wherein the first and second sensors are oriented such that at least one of the first and second sensors overlap the crotch region and at least one of the first and second sensors overlap at least one of the front and back waist regions;
- wherein the first and second sensors are not physically attached to the absorbent article when the auxiliary article is fitted over the absorbent article and when the sensor system is in use;
- and
- wherein the first and second sensors are capable of sensing different property changes selected from the group consisting of temperature changes, humidity changes, density changes, optical changes, acoustical changes, chemical changes, changes in thickness of the absorbent article, changes in material properties of the absorbent article, and combinations thereof.
