Underwater image projection display system, lighting control system and device and method of operating same

An underwater image projection system submerged in a body of water and projecting an image within the body of water, comprising:

• a submerged projection element with a projecting light source configured to project an image within the body of water;
• a light source steering device configured to direct light from the projecting light source;
• a user interface configured to receive data input from a user including at least one of an input of the image and instructions for displaying the image;
• and
• a controller in communication with the projecting light source, the light source steering device, and the user interface, the controller configured to:
• retrieve the data input from the user interface,
• access image data corresponding to the image, and
• control the projecting light source and the light source steering device to project the image onto a target surface within the body of water based on the data input from the user interface,
• wherein the controller is configured to retrieve additional input related to the projected image on the target surface, and adjust one of the projecting light source and the light source steering device to project a corrected image onto the target surface within the body of water based on the additional input, and
• wherein the controller is configured to provide a preview of the corrected image through the user interface and again retrieve the additional input to determine whether additional correction is needed.
