LED bulb adapters and methods of retrofitting LED bulbs

A method of retrofitting a fluorescent tube light fixture with an LED bulb adapter the fluorescent tube fixture originally having a ballast, a fluorescent tube receptacle for receiving pins of a fluorescent tube, and an enclosure defined by a reflector housing and a lens, the method comprising:

• removing said lens from said reflector housing;
• disconnecting said ballast from a mains power supply line and removing said ballast and said fluorescent tube receptacle from said housing to expose a mains power supply line entry point in the reflector housing;
• providing a LED bulb adapter comprising a body defining an electrical enclosure, the body having a mounting flange defining a central opening to receive said mains power supply line, the body having a plurality of bulb arms extending from the body, each bulb arm mounting an Edison socket light-emitting diode (LED) bulb socket;
• wiring said mains power supply line to the plurality of Edison socket light-emitting diode (LED) bulb sockets extending from the body of the LED bulb adapter, defining an electrical junction box, said bulb sockets configured to distribute light from said LED bulbs across said lens and said reflector;
• securing the mounting flange on a surface of the reflector housing;
• threading a plurality of LED bulbs into said bulb sockets;
• installing said lens to said housing such that said LED bulb adapter is received in an enclosure defined by said housing and said lens.
