Pressure-based authentication

A computer program product (CPP) comprising:

• one or more computer readable storage devices;
• and
• program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage devices, the stored program instructions including instructions for causing one or more computer processors to perform operations including the following:
• receiving user registration data corresponding to a user, where the user registration data includes a set of authentication parameters, where a given authentication parameter is associated with at least one physical pressure-based input value(s) corresponding to a force value applied to a pressure-sensitive input module of a first computer device of a plurality of computer devices associated with the user,
• receiving an access request requiring an authentication from a second computer device of the plurality of computer devices, where the access request includes the one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) recorded on a second pressure-sensitive input module inputted by the user associated with the set of authentication parameters,
• normalizing the one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) of the access request based, at least in part, on a ratio of pressure sensitivities between the pressure-sensitive input module of the first computer device and the second pressure-sensitive input module,
• determining whether the set of authentication parameters and normalized one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) of the access request match the user registration data, and
• responsive to determining that the authentication data matches the registration data, authenticating access for the user on the second computer device.

A computer system (CS) comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• one or more computer readable storage devices;
• and
• program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage devices for causing the one or more computer processors to perform operations including the following:
• receiving user registration data corresponding to a user, where the user registration data includes a set of authentication parameters, where a given authentication parameter is associated with at least one physical pressure-based input value(s) corresponding to a force value applied to a pressure-sensitive input module of a first computer device of a plurality of computer devices associated with the user,
• receiving an access request requiring an authentication from a second computer device of the plurality of computer devices, where the access request includes the one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) recorded on a second pressure-sensitive input module inputted by the user associated with the set of authentication parameters,
• normalizing the one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) of the access request based, at least in part, on a ratio of pressure sensitivities between the pressure-sensitive input module of the first computer device and the second pressure-sensitive input module
• determining whether the set of authentication parameters and normalized one or more physical pressure-based input value(s) of the access request match the user registration data, and
• responsive to determining that the authentication data matches the registration data, authenticating access for the user on the second computer device.
