Abstract
Methods, systems, and products describe a car, truck, or other vehicle that charges a battery in a mobile device. The vehicle wirelessly inductively charges the battery based on historical usage.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a hardware processor, a data sent via a wireless communication with a mobile device, the data representing a historical power consumption of a battery power associated with a battery powering the mobile device;
- determining, by the hardware processor, a charging strategy for the battery based on the historical power consumption of the battery power that is calculated to provide a sufficient battery charge for a predicted power consumption of the battery power for a future time period, wherein the sufficient battery charge is less than a full charge of the battery;
- and
- charging, by the hardware processor, the battery to the sufficient battery charge by inductively coupling an electrical power to the mobile device according to the charging strategy.

An apparatus, comprising:
- a hardware processor;
- and
- a memory device storing code that, when executed by the hardware processor, cause the hardware processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a data sent via a wireless communication with a mobile device, the data representing a historical power consumption of a battery power associated with a battery powering the mobile device;
- determining a charging strategy for the battery based on the historical power consumption of the battery power that is calculated to provide a sufficient battery charge for a predicted power consumption of the battery power for a future time period, wherein the sufficient battery charge is less than a full charge of the battery;
- and
- charging the battery to the sufficient battery charge by inductively coupling an electrical power to the mobile device according to the charging strategy.
