Abstract
The secondary battery according to the present invention may comprise the separator pocket part having the accommodation groove in which the first electrode plate is accommodated and a radical unit provided as the second electrode plate disposed on one surface of the separator pocket part to secure the stacking property, safety, and insulation.
Claims12
A secondary battery comprising:
- an electrode assembly including a plurality of radical units, each radical unit having a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate stacked on a top surface of and bonded to the separator, the separator defining a first width and forming a pocket part having a second width shorter than the first width, the pocket part accommodating the first electrode plate,
- wherein the second electrode plate has a width equal to the first width of the separator,
- wherein the plurality of radical units are stacked and adjacent radical units are not bonded to each other, and
- wherein the first electrode plate is a positive electrode plate and the second electrode plate is a negative electrode plate.

A secondary battery comprising:
- an electrode assembly including a plurality of radical units, each radical unit including a first electrode plate, a separator assembly, and a second electrode plate stacked on a top surface of the separator assembly, the separator assembly including a first separator part and a second separator part bonded together with a first bonding force to form a pocket part in which the first electrode plate is accommodated, the first electrode plate being bonded to the separator assembly with a second bonding force less the first bonding force, the separator assembly defining a first width and the pocket part defining a second width smaller than the first width,
- wherein the second electrode plate defines a width that is equal to the first width of the separator assembly,
- wherein the second bonding force is configured to be released by an electrolyte, and
- wherein the first electrode plate is a positive electrode plate and the second electrode plate is a negative electrode plate.
