Abstract
A facility creates a dynamic gauge for indicating the status of equipment. The facility causes a gauge to be displayed with an initial satisfactory range and an initial unsatisfactory range. The facility accesses historical data describing the status of a sensor attached to equipment. The facility determines a new satisfactory range and a new unsatisfactory range, and alters the gauge to visually indicate the new satisfactory range and the new unsatisfactory range.
Claims29
A system to create a dynamic gauge, the system comprising:
- a computing device;
- a gauge array including a gauge, the gauge being adapted to visually indicate an initial satisfactory range and an initial unsatisfactory range, wherein the initial satisfactory range and initial unsatisfactory range are determined by an initial condition of equipment;
- a sensor adapted to report the status of the equipment;
- a memory adapted to store historical data, wherein the historical data includes data describing the status of the sensor before the present time;
- the computing device being adapted to automatically determine a new satisfactory range and a new unsatisfactory range based on the historical data;
- and
- the gauge being adapted to be updated automatically by the computing device to visually indicate the new satisfactory range and the new unsatisfactory range.
One or more instances of computer readable media collectively having contents configured to cause a computing device to perform a method, the method comprising:
- accessing historical data, wherein the historical data includes data describing the status of a sensor before the present time, wherein the status of the sensor corresponds to the status of equipment;
- visually indicating a satisfactory range and an unsatisfactory range on a gauge;
- automatically determining a new satisfactory range and a new unsatisfactory range based on the historical data;
- and
- automatically altering the gauge to visually indicate the new satisfactory range and the new unsatisfactory range.
A method in a computing device, the method comprising:
- displaying a gauge, wherein the gauge visually indicates an initial maintenance interval describing when equipment requires maintenance, wherein the initial maintenance interval is determined by the initial condition of the equipment;
- accessing historical data, wherein the historical data includes data retrieved from a sensor over a period of time, wherein the data retrieved from the sensor corresponds to the status of the equipment;
- accessing maintenance data, the maintenance data including data describing maintenance intervals indicating when the equipment requires maintenance;
- automatically determining a new maintenance interval based on the accessed historical data and the accessed maintenance data;
- and
- automatically altering the displayed gauge to visually indicate the new maintenance interval.
A system to predict equipment maintenance intervals, the system comprising:
- a computing device;
- a display, the display being adapted to visually indicate a maintenance interval determined by the initial condition of equipment;
- a gauge visually indicated by the display;
- a sensor, adapted to report the status of the equipment;
- a memory being adapted to store historical data, wherein the historical data includes data describing the status of the sensor before the present time;
- a memory being adapted to store maintenance data, wherein the maintenance data includes data describing maintenance intervals;
- the computing device being adapted to automatically determine a new maintenance interval based on the historical data and maintenance data;
- and
- the computing device automatically altering the gauge to visually indicate the new maintenance interval.
