Abstract
Some embodiments of the invention provide a method that receives structured curated data regarding transit infrastructure and receives scheduled transit data regarding transit trips provided by a transit operation. The method also aligns scheduled transit data with structured curated data in order to allow the transit data to be associated with a set of attributes of the structured curated data.
Claims22
A method implemented using a server computing device, the server computing device executing a map service that is implemented by one or more processors and a memory device, the method comprising:
- generating, by the map service, a trip pattern from a list of stops included in transit schedule data for a transit line;
- generating, by the map service, structured curated data that includes two or more platforms for a stop included in the list of stops;
- based on the generated trip patterns, generating, by the map service, a particular trip-pattern stop for each stop of the trip pattern;
- identifying, by the map service, from the two or more platforms, a platform that corresponds to the particular trip-pattern stop;
- associating, by the map service, the platform with the particular trip-pattern stop in a merged data storage that merges a first subset of the structured curated data and a second subset of the transit schedule data;
- and
- in response to a navigation instructions request from a client device, causing, by the map service, the client device to present navigation instructions based on transit route data obtained from the merged data storage.
A system comprising:
- a map service that is implemented by one or more processors;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sets of instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause:
- generating, by the map service, a trip pattern from a list of stops included in transit schedule data for a transit line;
- generating, by the map service, structured curated data that includes two or more platforms for a stop included in the list of stops;
- based on the generated trip patterns, generating, by the map service, a particular trip-pattern stop for each stop of the trip pattern;
- identifying, by the map service, from the two or more platforms, a platform that corresponds to the particular trip-pattern stop;
- associating, by the map service, the platform with the particular trip-pattern stop in a merged data storage that merges a first subset of the structured curated data and a second subset of the transit schedule data;
- and
- in response to a navigation instructions request from a client device, causing, by the map service, the client device to present navigation instructions based on transit route data obtained from the merged data storage.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing a map service program comprising sets of instructions for:
- generating, by the map service, a trip pattern from a list of stops included in transit schedule data for a transit line;
- generating, by the map service, structured curated data that includes two or more platforms for a stop included in the list of stops;
- based on the generated trip patterns, generating, by the map service, a particular trip-pattern stop for each stop of the trip pattern;
- identifying, by the map service, from the two or more platforms, a platform that corresponds to the particular trip-pattern stop;
- associating, by the map service, the platform with the particular trip-pattern stop in a merged data storage that merges a first subset of the structured curated data and a second subset of the transit schedule data;
- and
- in response to a navigation instructions request from a client device, causing, by the map service, the client device to present navigation instructions based on transit route data obtained from the merged data storage.
