Abstract
A method and apparatus for enhancing digital video effects (DVE) operates to embed DVE functionality within a graphics modeling system and provides the user with an interface configured to present model elements to a user as controllable parameters. In order to embed DVE functionality, a dynamic data structure is introduced as a scene to allow the addition of user defined model elements. The user interface enables the identification of, and access to the newly introduced model elements.
Claims20
A system for dynamically modifying digital video effects in broadcast video production, the system comprising:
- an input image processor configured to receive a live video;
- a digital video effects (DVE) controller configured to embed model elements of a graphics model into a graphics modeling system;
- a graphics model renderer configured to dynamically render a scene for the received live video, wherein the rendered scene comprises a dynamic data structure that provides an application programming interface (API) configured to automatically access and bind the embedded model elements of the graphics model to user controllable DVE parameters for the scene;
- a user interface configured to present the rendered scene having the user controllable DVE parameters as key-frames in a timeline to form live broadcast video effects for the received live video, with the user controllable DVE parameters being configured to receive image editing manipulations from a user via the user interface;
- an image editor configured to automatically manipulate the model elements of the graphics model in response to the received image editing manipulations of the user controllable DVE parameters in the rendered scene that are bound to the model elements, respectively;
- and
- an output image processor configured to generate and output a modified output video of the live video based on the automatically manipulated model elements of the graphics model.
A system for dynamically modifying digital video effects in video production, the system comprising:
- a graphics model renderer configured to dynamically generate a graphics scene as a dynamic data structure that maps at least one digital image to a graphics model, wherein the dynamic data structure provides an application programming interface (API) configured to automatically access and bind at least one model element of the graphics model to a corresponding controllable digital video effects (DVE) parameter for the generated graphics scene;
- a video production editor configured to dynamically manipulate the at least one model element of the graphics model in response to an image editing manipulation of the corresponding controllable DVE parameter in the generated graphics scene;
- and
- an output image processor configured to generate and output a modified image for video production based on the dynamically manipulated at least one model element of the graphics model.
A system for dynamically modifying digital video effects in video production, the system comprising:
- a graphics model renderer configured to generate a graphics scene as a dynamic data structure that automatically accesses and binds at least one model element of a graphics model to a corresponding controllable digital video effects (DVE) parameter, respectively;
- a video production editor configured to dynamically manipulate the at least one model element of the graphics model in response to an image editing manipulation of the corresponding controllable DVE parameter;
- and
- an output image processor configured to generate a modified image for video production based on the dynamically manipulated at least one model element of the graphics model,
- wherein the dynamic data structure is configured to provide an application programming interface (API) that automatically accesses and binds the at least one model element of the graphics model to the corresponding controllable DVE parameter, respectively.
