Claims19
A cinched parachute, comprising:
- a canopy comprising one or more sections of canopy material, wherein a first panel of the canopy is configured to be moved in a first direction and a second panel of the canopy is configured to be moved in a second direction different from the first direction;
- and
- a control device including:
- a tether configured to control an amount of air entering the canopy;
- a holding device configured to constrain or release the tether, wherein the holding device comprises a brake pad or a clamp;
- and
- a severing device configured to sever the tether, wherein the control device is integrated with the canopy and controls dimensions of the canopy material including widening an opening atop the parachute in response to the first panel and the second panel moving in different directions.
