Abstract
Methods, systems, and storage media for dynamic allocation of communication channels among multiple wireless networks are disclosed. The example embodiments may provide interference mitigation and control among a plurality of wireless protocols operating in an environment. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.
Claims26
One or more non-transitory computer readable media (NTCRM) comprising instructions, wherein execution of the instructions by one or more processors of a smallcell base station (SBS) is to cause the SBS to:
- identify one or more connected devices to schedule respective transmissions;
- determine interference values for a set of available channels, wherein the interference values are based on measurements of the set of available channels;
- assign ranks to the set of available channels based on the interference values;
- store the assigned ranks in a channel priority table;
- assign available channels of the set of available channels to corresponding connected devices of the one or more connected devices based on the assigned ranks stored in the channel priority table;
- and
- instruct the corresponding connected devices to transmit or receive signaling in the assigned available channels.
A base station (BS) comprising:
- radiofrequency (RF) circuitry arranged to signal channel assignments to respective connected devices, the channel assignments indicating assigned available channels in which the respective connected devices are to transmit or receive signaling;
- and
- processor circuitry coupled with the RF circuitry, the processor circuitry arranged to:
- identify the connected devices;
- determine an amount of interference for a set of available channels based on RF measurements of the set of available channels;
- rank the set of available channels based on the amount of interference for the set of available channels;
- store the ranks in a channel priority table;
- and
- determine the channel assignments for the respective connected devices based on the ranks stored in the channel priority table.
A dynamic channel allocation (DCA) method, comprising:
- identifying, by a smallcell base station (SBS), one or more connected devices to schedule respective transmissions;
- determining, by the SBS, interference signatures for a set of available channels, wherein the interference signatures indicate an amount of interference experienced by a corresponding one of the set of available channels based on measurements of the set of available channels;
- assigning, by the SBS, ranks to the corresponding ones of the set of available channels based on the interference signatures;
- storing, by the SBS, the assigned ranks in a DCA database;
- assigning, by the SBS, available channels of the set of available channels to corresponding connected devices of the one or more connected devices based on the assigned ranks stored in the DCA database;
- and
- transmitting, by the SBS, channel assignments to respective connected devices, channel assignments indicating the assigned available channels in which the respective connected devices are to transmit or receive signaling.
