Systems and methods for utilizing unused network capacity for prefetch requests

A system for utilizing unused network capacity for prefetch requests, the system including:

• at least one data storage device that stores instructions for utilizing unused network capacity for prefetch requests;
• and
• at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, over a network, network traffic information from a network provider of the network;
• determining, over the network, a plurality of prefetch requests associated with a device;
• determining, for each prefetch request of the plurality of prefetch requests by the one or more servers, a ranking based on a prediction of which of the plurality of prefetch requests the device is most likely to use;
• and
• responding to, for each prefetch request of the plurality of prefetch requests by the one or more servers, the prefetch request based on the network traffic information and the ranking for the prefetch request.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform operations for utilizing unused network capacity for prefetch requests, the operations comprising:

• receiving, over a network, network traffic information from a network provider of the network;
• determining, over the network, a plurality of prefetch requests associated with a device;
• determining, for each prefetch request of the plurality of prefetch requests by the one or more servers, a ranking based on a prediction of which of the plurality of prefetch requests the device is most likely to use;
• and
• responding to, for each prefetch request of the plurality of prefetch requests by the one or more servers, the prefetch request based on the network traffic information and the ranking for the prefetch request.
