Dental drill tool

A system for mitigating pain associated with a tooth concurrent with a removal of a portion of the tooth, the system comprising:

• a drill head for a dental drill, the drill head comprising:
• a dental burr configured to remove the portion of the tooth, wherein the dental burr comprises an axial hole therethrough;
• a body having an axial opening configured to accept the dental burr therethrough;
• and
• a port member coupled to the body, wherein the port member is in fluid communication with the axial hole of the dental burr;
• and
• a desiccation apparatus configured to flow a desiccated gas to the port member, whereby the port member and axial hole are configured to flow the desiccated gas therethrough, thereby generally exposing the portion of the tooth to the desiccated gas, wherein the desiccated gas generally desiccates dentinal tubules in a region surrounding the portion of the tooth, therein generally preventing nerve cells within the tooth from transmitting pain signals associated with said removal of the portion of the tooth.
