Transportable sub-critical modules for nuclear power generation

A transportable nuclear power generator, comprising:

• a plurality of subcritical power modules, each comprising:
• a fuel cartridge containing a nuclear fuel;
• a power conversion unit comprising:
• a compressor turbine and a power turbine disposed at opposite ends of the fuel cartridge;
• and
• a heat exchanger coupled with the fuel cartridge, the compressor turbine, and the power turbine;
• at least one movement controller mechanically coupled to at least one of the plurality of subcritical power modules, and configured to move, during an operation, the at least one of the plurality of subcritical power modules relative to remaining one or more of the plurality of subcritical power modules between a first position in which the nuclear fuel is in a sub-critical state and a second position in which the nuclear fuel is in a critical state;
• a support structure configured to support the plurality of subcritical power modules;
• and
• an ISO standard transport container in which the support structure is provided, the plurality of subcritical power modules being disposed inside the ISO standard transport container.
