## Abstract

A system and method for media content management may comprise creating, via a digital vault, a container file comprising media content submitted by a first user and content metadata; verifying, via the digital vault, a completeness of the content metadata associated with the media content in the container file; classifying, via the digital vault, the container file based on the completeness of the media content; and capturing, via the digital vault, event metadata when a second user gains access to the container file, the event metadata comprising identification of the second user, an activation timestamp, a duration of access, portions of the container file accessed, and changes to the container file.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for media content management, comprising:
creating, via a digital vault, a container file comprising media content submitted by a first user and content metadata;
verifying, via the digital vault, a completeness of the content metadata associated with the media content in the container file;
classifying, via the digital vault, the container file based on the completeness of the media content; and
capturing, via the digital vault, event metadata when a second user gains access to the container file, the event metadata comprising identification of the second user, an activation timestamp, a duration of access, portions of the container file accessed, and changes to the container file.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is a song element.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is a complete piece of content comprising multiple elements.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first user is an owner of the media content.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving the media content; and
uploading, via the digital vault, the media content to a repository.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving metadata associated with the media content; and
storing, via the digital vault, the metadata associated with the media content.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
sending, via the digital vault, a message to a third user inviting the third user to access the container file; and
confirming that the third user is authorized to access the container file based on the message.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the message includes an access code used for confirming authorization to access the container file.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein the access code is a single use access code.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein the access code is a user-specific, non-transferable access code that remains valid for a pre-determined period of time.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the content metadata comprises at least one of a length of the media content, performing artist name, producer name, arranger name, author name, recording engineer name, recording studio name, recording date and time, genre of the media content, and sub-genre of the media content.

### Claim 12

A system for media content management using a digital vault, comprising:
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor to store instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
create a container file comprising media content submitted by a first user and content metadata;
verify a completeness of the content metadata associated with the media content in the container file;
classify the container file based on the completeness of the media content; and
capture event metadata when a second user gains access to the container file, the event metadata comprising identification of the second user, an activation timestamp, a duration of access, portions of the container file accessed, and changes to the container file.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The system of claim 12, wherein the media content is a song element.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The system of claim 12, wherein the media content is a complete piece of content comprising multiple elements.

### Claim 15 (depends on 12)

The system of claim 12, wherein the first user is an owner of the media content.

### Claim 16 (depends on 12)

The system of claim 12, wherein the content metadata comprises at least one of a length of the media content, performing artist name, producer name, arranger name, author name, recording engineer name, recording studio name, recording date and time, genre of the media content, and sub-genre of the media content.

### Claim 17

A non-transient electronic, machine readable media storing a plurality of instructions executable by one or more processors, the plurality of instructions when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:
create a container file comprising media content submitted by a first user and content metadata;
verify a completeness of the content metadata associated with the media content in the container file;
classify the container file based on the completeness of the media content; and
capture event metadata when a second user gains access to the container file, the event metadata comprising identification of the second user, an activation timestamp, a duration of access, portions of the container file accessed, and changes to the container file.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The non-transient electronic, machine readable media of claim 17, wherein the media content is a song element.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The non-transient electronic, machine readable media of claim 17, wherein the media content is a complete piece of content comprising multiple elements.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The non-transient electronic, machine readable media of claim 17, wherein the first user is an owner of the media content.
