## Abstract

The invention concerns a process for the approach to an oriented relative position between a camera or scanning device and a dental assistance element (10), in particular via an app on a smartphone, for recording the dental assistance element (10), such as a miniature shade guide (10). A mark (4) is attached to the dental assistance element (10), and/or at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is used as a mark (4). A stencil (6) which is congruent with or mathematically similar to the mark (4) is displayed on a display device of the camera or scanning device. For the approach to the oriented relative position between the camera or scanning device and the dental assistance element, a modification of the degree of coverage of the stencil (6) with the mark (4) or the one part of the dental assistance element (10) is detected.

## Claims

### Claim 1

Process for an approach to an oriented relative position between a camera or scanning device and a dental assistance element (10) for recording the dental assistance element (10) comprising
wherein the dental assistance element (10) comprises a miniature shade guide,
wherein there is a mark (4) attached to the dental assistance element (10), and/or
wherein at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is used as a mark (4),
wherein a stencil (6) which is congruent with or mathematically similar to the mark (4) is displayed on a display device of the camera or scanning device, and
wherein for the approach to the oriented relative position between the camera or scanning device and the dental assistance element, a modification of a degree of coverage of the stencil (6) with the mark (4) or the at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is detected.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein the mark (4) is provided with at least one asymmetry.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein for the approach to the oriented relative position between the camera or scanning device and the dental assistance element, the stencil (6) is brought to coverage or is brought substantially to coverage with the mark (4) or the at least one part of the dental assistance element (10), or the mark (4) or at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) and the stencil (6) are aligned with each other.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

Process according to claim 3,
wherein the congruence or coverage between the stencil (6) and the mark (4) or the at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is signalled by an optical, acoustic, or mechanic display (16), or by triggering the camera.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein assistance notifiers are displayed on an optical surface (7) of the camera or scanning device when coverage has not yet been reached,
wherein the assistance notifiers point into the direction in which the coverage may be reached by a relative movement between the dental assistance element (10), or a patient with the dental assistance element (10), and the camera or scanning device.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

Process according to claim 5,
wherein the assistance notifiers comprise arrows (12, 14).

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein the stencil (6) is displayed on an optical surface (7) of the camera or scanning device.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein the stencil (6) is physically present and is displayed on a virtual image and is detected by an image recognition device and is converted into data, and
wherein based on the data for the approach to the oriented relative position between the camera or scanning device and the dental assistance element, a modification of the degree of coverage of the stencil (6) with the mark (4) or the at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is detected and/or the degree of coverage and/or the modification of the degree of coverage is signalled.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

Process according to claim 8,
wherein alignment advice (12, 14, 16) is output for the camera or scanning device depending on the position of the stencil (6) relative to the image detected.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

Process according to claim 9,
wherein the alignment advice (12, 14) concerns focusing or an electronically controllable detection range (7) of the camera, and based on the alignment advice, the detection of the image is modified, if necessary.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

Process according to claim 9,
wherein the alignment advice (12, 14, 16) is provided as optical and/or acoustic and/or mechanic advice.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

Process according to claim 11,
wherein the optical and/or acoustic and/or mechanic advice comprises vibrations and/or pulses for a user of the camera or scanning device.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

Process according to claim 1,
wherein the mark (4) or the at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is provided for detection of an angular error, with points (30) arranged in a line, or with lines having congruence with corresponding line of points or mark of the stencil (6) in order to determine an angular error.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)
