## Abstract

The technology described herein is directed to methods and compositions for the treatment of hypertension, e.g. pulmonary arterial hypertension, relating to inhibition of TGFβ1, TGFβ3, and/or GDF-15.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in a subject in need of treatment thereof, the method comprising administering a neutralizing antibody against Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15) to the subject.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the subject has scleroderma or connective tissue disease associated with PAH (APAH-CTD).

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the subject is determined to have an increased level of GDF-15 relative to a control.
