Abstract
Di (2-Aryl Hydrazonopropanal) arene derivatives are provided. The compounds exhibit high levels of toxicity against e.g. human colon cancer cells and are used to treat cancer.

A compound of Y—X—Y, where
- X is aryl or heteroaryl, and
- Y is
- where ** is a point of attachment to X;
- and wherein Ar is
- where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are independently the same or different and are H, lower alkyl, or CN, with the caveat that at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is not H;
- and where * is the point of attachment to the amine of Y.
