Medical dressing

A medical dressing for application to a contoured surface of a human body, the dressing having a central portion and a surrounding border portion and a lateral (x) and a longitudinal (y) extension;

• wherein the dressing comprises:
• a backing layer
• an adhesive body contact layer, and
• a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the body contact layer,
• wherein the backing layer and the body contact layer extend beyond the periphery of the pad to define the border portion along the contour of the pad;
• the pad being symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprising a first lobed portion on one side of the longitudinal center line and a second lobed portion on the other side of the longitudinal center line,
• the dressing further divided by a lateral center line into an upper region and a lower region, wherein the first lobed portion comprises a first gripping tab arranged in the upper region of the first lobed portion of the dressing,
• wherein the second lobed portion comprises a second gripping tab arranged in the upper region of the second lobed portion of the dressing,
• wherein each of the first and second gripping tabs are integral with and project outwardly from the border portion of its respective lobed portion away from the longitudinal center line, such that the border portion extends uninterrupted from the border portion to the gripping tabs.
