Covering for architectural features, related systems, and methods of manufacture

A flexible panel for a window covering having a height and a width, the flexible panel for adjusting the amount of light that passes there through and comprising:

• a front general vertical support sheer having a height and width, the height and width of the front support sheer being substantially the same as the height and width of the panel;
• a rear vertical support sheer having a height and a width, the height and width of the rear support sheer being substantially the same as the height and width of the panel, the rear vertical support sheer substantially parallel to the front vertical support sheer, and operably coupled and laterally moveable relative to the front vertical support sheer;
• and
• a plurality of generally horizontal vanes having a length and having a width, at least a portion of the width of the vanes extending between the front and rear vertical support sheers, the length of the vanes being substantially the same as the width of the front and rear vertical support sheers, the front and rear support sheers controlling the movement and angular orientation of the vanes;
• wherein the front support sheer is formed of polymer-based threads and has an openness factor in the range of about seventy-five percent (75%) to about ninety percent (90%), and the rear support sheer is formed of polymer-based threads and has an openness factor greater than the openness factor of the front vertical support sheer, and the rear support sheer is a darker color than the front support sheer.

A covering for an architectural feature having a width and a height, the covering for adjusting the amount of light that may pass there through and comprising:

• a roller;
• and
• a flexible panel having a width, a top and a bottom end defining a height of the panel, the top end of the panel operatively associated with the roller, the panel comprising:
• a front general vertical support sheer having a height and width;
• a rear vertical support sheer having a height and a width, the rear vertical support sheer substantially parallel to the front vertical support sheer, and operably coupled and laterally moveable relative to the front vertical support sheer;
• and
• a plurality of generally horizontal vanes extending between the front and rear vertical support sheers, the front and rear support sheers controlling the movement and angular orientation of the vanes;
• wherein the front and rear support sheers both are formed of polymer-based threads and both have an openness factor in the range of about seventy-five percent (75%) to about ninety percent (90%), and at least one of the front and rear support sheers is a dark color.
