Abstract
A class-D amplifier includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) configured to generate a first digital signal based on an analog input signal and a feedback signal received at an input node. A loop filter is configured to modify the first digital signal by moving an error of the ADC out of a predetermined frequency band, and a compensation filter is configured to further modify the first digital signal by introducing one or more poles or zeros, thereby generating a second digital signal. An output circuit is configured to generate an output signal at an output node based on the second digital signal, and the feedback signal is generated from the output signal.

A class-D amplifier comprising:
- an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) configured to generate a first digital signal based on an analog input signal and a feedback signal received at an input node;
- a loop filter configured to modify the first digital signal by moving an error of the ADC out of a predetermined frequency band;
- a compensation filter configured to further modify the first digital signal by introducing one or more poles or zeros, thereby generating a second digital signal;
- and
- an output circuit configured to generate an output signal at an output node based on the second digital signal,
- wherein the feedback signal is generated from the output signal.
A class-D amplifier comprising:
- an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) comprising:
- a non-inverted input node configured to receive a non-inverted analog input signal and an inverted feedback signal;
- an inverted input node configured to receive an inverted analog input signal and a non-inverted feedback signal;
- and
- an output port,
- wherein the ADC is configured to generate a first digital signal at the output port based on the non-inverted analog input signal, the inverted feedback signal, the inverted analog input signal, and the non-inverted feedback signal;
- a loop filter coupled to the output port and configured to modify the first digital signal by moving an error of the ADC out of a predetermined frequency band;
- a compensation filter configured to further modify the first digital signal by introducing one or more poles or zeros, thereby generating a second digital signal;
- and
- an output circuit configured to generate, based on the second digital signal, a first output signal at a first output node and a second output signal at a second output node,
- wherein
- the inverted feedback signal is generated from the first output signal, and
- the non-inverted feedback signal is generated from the second output signal.
A method, comprising:
- generating, by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a first digital signal based on an analog input signal and a feedback signal;
- generating a second digital signal from the first digital signal by moving, using a loop filter, an error of the ADC out of a predetermined frequency band, and introducing, using a compensation filter, one or more poles or zeros;
- generating, by a first Class-D output driver of a driver circuit, an output signal based on the second digital signal;
- and
- generating the feedback signal from the output signal.
