Abstract
Embodiments of a system and method are described for generating a finance attribute. In one embodiment, the systems and methods retrieve raw tradeline data from a plurality of credit bureaus, retrieve industry code data related to each of the plurality of credit bureaus, determine one or more tradeline leveling characteristics that meet at least one pre-determined threshold, and generate a finance attribute using the selected leveling characteristics.
Claims15
A computer-implemented method for generating an attribute from raw tradeline data stored in different formats by a plurality of credit sources, the method comprising:
- electronically obtaining raw tradeline data from each of a plurality of credit data sources over a network that is communicating with the plurality of credit data sources;
- retrieving code data related to the raw tradeline, wherein the code data comprises a plurality of codes, each individual code of the plurality of codes indicating a category or classification of respective tradeline data, wherein at least a first subset of codes used in association with a first credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources is not used in association with a second credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources and wherein different formats comprise one or more differences between the raw tradeline data of the plurality of credit data sources;
- designating a first set of tradeline characteristics associated with a subset of the code data to determine whether the first set of tradeline characteristics will yield substantially consistent tradeline data across the plurality of credit data sources by iteratively:
- accessing raw tradeline data associated with the subset of code data from each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- measuring a correlation between the accessed tradeline data and the raw tradeline data for each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- and
- updating the subset of the code data until the measurement for each of the plurality of credit data sources meets at least one predefined threshold;
- based on a determination that the measurement meets the at least one predefined threshold, identifying the tradeline characteristics associated with the updated subset of the code data;
- and
- generating a leveled attribute using the identified tradeline characteristics.
A computing system for generating an attribute from raw tradeline data stored in different formats by a plurality of credit sources, the computer system comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processor in communication with the memory and configured with processor-executable instructions to perform operations comprising:
- electronically obtaining raw tradeline data from each of a plurality of credit data sources over a network that is communicating with the plurality of credit data sources;
- retrieving code data related to the raw tradeline, wherein the code data comprises a plurality of codes, each individual code of the plurality of codes indicating a category or classification of respective tradeline data, wherein at least a first subset of codes used in association with a first credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources is not used in association with a second credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources and wherein different formats comprise one or more differences between the raw tradeline data of the plurality of credit data sources;
- designating a first set of tradeline characteristics associated with a subset of the code data to determine whether the first set of tradeline characteristics will yield substantially consistent tradeline data across the plurality of credit data sources by iteratively:
- accessing raw tradeline data associated with the subset of code data from each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- determining correlation between the accessed tradeline data and the raw tradeline data for each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- and
- updating the subset of the code data until the measurement for each of the plurality of credit data sources meets at least one predefined threshold;
- based on a determination that the measurement meets the at least one predefined threshold, identifying the tradeline characteristics associated with the updated subset of the code data;
- and
- generating a leveled attribute using the first set of identified tradeline characteristics.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more computer systems, configure the one or more computer systems to perform operations comprising:
- electronically obtaining raw tradeline data from each of a plurality of credit data sources over a network that is communicating with the plurality of credit data sources;
- retrieving code data related to the raw tradeline, wherein the code data comprises a plurality of codes, each individual code of the plurality of codes indicating a category or classification of respective tradeline data, wherein at least a first subset of codes used in association with a first credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources is not used in association with a second credit data source of the plurality of credit data sources and wherein different formats comprise one or more differences between the raw tradeline data of the plurality of credit data sources;
- designating a first set of tradeline characteristics associated with a subset of the code data to determine whether the first set of tradeline characteristics will yield substantially consistent tradeline data across the plurality of credit data sources by iteratively:
- accessing raw tradeline data associated with the subset of code data from each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- measuring a correlation between the accessed tradeline data and the raw tradeline data for each of the plurality of credit data sources;
- and
- updating the subset of the code data until the measurement for each of the plurality of credit data sources meets at least one predefined threshold;
- based on a determination that the measurement meets the at least one predefined threshold, identifying the tradeline characteristics associated with the updated subset of the code data;
- and
- generating a leveled attribute using the identified tradeline characteristics.
