A method or apparatus provides binaural sound that originates to a person at a location inside a field of view (FOV) provided to the person by an electronic device. The electronic device determines when the location of the binaural sound moves outside the FOV and assists the person in determining the location of the binaural sound. A display of the electronic device displays a visual indication that shows a direction to the location of the binaural sound outside the FOV.
A method executed by one or more electronic devices, the method comprising:
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions stored thereon that when executed by one or more electronic devices cause the one or more electronic devices to perform a method comprising:
A wearable electronic device (WED) worn on a head of a person, the WED comprising:

Three-dimensional (3D) sound localization offers people a wealth of new technological avenues to not merely communicate with each other but also to communicate with electronic devices, software programs, and processes.
As this technology develops, challenges will arise with regard to how sound localization integrates into the modern era. Example embodiments offer solutions to some of these challenges and assist in providing technological advancements in methods and apparatus using 3D sound localization.
FIG. 1 is a method that displays a location of binaural sound and/or an image that is outside a field of view in accordance with an example embodiment.
FIGS. 2A-2E show an electronic device that provides a location and/or direction of a sound localization point (SLP) of binaural sound and/or image that is outside a field of view (FOV) in accordance with an example embodiment.
FIGS. 3A-3B show an electronic device that provides a location and/or direction of a sound localization point (SLP) of binaural sound and/or image that is outside a field of view (FOV) in accordance with an example embodiment.
Example embodiments include methods and apparatus that display a direction and/or a location of binaural sound that occurs outside a field of view.
One example embodiment is a method or apparatus that provides binaural sound that originates to a person at a location inside a field of view (FOV) provided to the person by an electronic device. The electronic device determines when the location of the binaural sound moves outside the FOV and assists the person in determining the location of the binaural sound. A display of the electronic device displays a visual indication that shows a direction to the location of the binaural sound outside the FOV.
Other example embodiments are discussed herein.
