Abstract

The disclosure describes aspects of a display processing circuitry. In an aspect, one or more displays that support multiple views include one or more arrays of pixels, one or more backplanes, and a processing circuitry configured to receive one or more data streams, control processing of the data streams based on policies from which to select a mode of operation, each mode of operation defining which rays of light the arrays of pixels in the displays are to contribute to generate a particular view or views and the tasks to be performed by the processing circuitry to modify the data streams accordingly. The processing circuitry further provides signaling representative of the modified data streams to the arrays of pixels through a circuit configuration of the backplanes for the arrays of pixels to contribute the rays that will to generate the particular view or views. A corresponding method is also described.

Dependent claims

A display configured to support multiple views, comprising:

at least one array of pixels configured to producing rays of light;
at least one backplane electronically coupled with the at least one array of pixels;
and
processing circuitry electronically coupled with the at least one backplane,
wherein the processing circuitry includes a neural network architecture configured to process a data stream of input data received at the display,
wherein the processing circuitry is configured to:
receive the data stream of input data,
select a mode of operation out of a plurality of modes of operation supported by the processing circuitry, each one of the plurality of modes of operation defining rays of light that generate a particular view and tasks to be performed by the processing circuitry to modify the data stream of input data to generate the particular view, and
provide signaling representative of the data stream so modified to the at least one array of pixels through a circuit configuration of the at least one backplane to contribute the rays of light to generate the particular view, and
wherein the processing circuitry is configured to use the neural network architecture to process the data stream of input data into a stream of output data including the data stream so modified.

A method for processing at least one data stream on a display supporting multiple views, the display including an array of pixels for producing rays of light, a backplane electronically coupled with the array of pixels, and processing circuitry electronically coupled with the backplane, the method comprising:

receiving a data stream at the processing circuitry;
selecting a mode of operation out of a plurality of modes of operation supported by the processing circuitry, each one of the plurality of modes of operation defining rays of light that generate a particular view and tasks to be performed by the processing circuitry for modifying the data stream to generate the particular view;
processing, in according to the mode of operation so selected, the data stream to obtain a modified data stream;
and
providing signaling representative of the modified data stream to the array of pixels through a circuit configuration of the backplane for the array of pixels to generate the particular view
wherein the plurality of modes of operation are implemented using a neural network architecture.

an array of pixels configured to produce light rays;
a backplane electronically coupled with the array of pixels;
and
processing circuitry electronically coupled with the backplane,
wherein the processing circuitry includes a neural network architecture configured to process an input data stream received at the display,
wherein the processing circuitry is configured to support a plurality of modes of operation defining a particular set of light rays that generate a particular view and tasks to be performed by the neural network architecture to modify the input data stream to generate the particular view,
wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:
receive the input data stream,
select a particular mode of operation from the plurality of modes of operation in accordance with the input data stream,
process the input data stream to generate an output data stream in accordance with the particular mode of operation, and
provide signaling representative of the output data stream to the array of pixels through the backplane, where the array of pixels is configured to contribute the particular set of light rays to generate the particular view.
