Theme-based push notifications

A computer system, comprising:

• one or more computer devices each having one or more processors and one or more tangible storage devices;
• and
• a program embodied on at least one of the one or more storage devices, the program having a plurality of program instructions for execution by the one or more processors, the program instructions comprising instructions for:
• registering a user device;
• identifying an operating system associated with the registered user device;
• receiving, by a push notification based application on the user device, at least one theme-based push notification template from a push notification based application server, wherein the push notification based application server defines the at least one theme-based push notification template based on the identified operating system associated with the registered user device;
• storing, by the push notification based application on the user device, the at least one theme-based push notification template from the push notification based application server on a local storage of the user device;
• upon running a push notification based application on the registered user device, syncing, automatically, one or more new theme-based push notification templates, from a push notification based application server, to the push notification based application;
• processing a push notification based on the at least one theme-based push notification template;
• and
• customizing payload information based on the requirements and capabilities of the operating system specific to the registered user device.
