Systems and methods for detecting and locating unsecured sensors in a network

A system for detecting and locating unsecured sensors in a network, the system comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a detection and alerting application;
• a computing system in communication with a network, the computing system including one or more computing devices, the computing system configured to:
• find an IP address associated with an unsecured sensor based on a port through which the unsecured sensor communicates with the network;
• ascertain a prefix route associated with the IP address for the unsecured sensor based on a portion of the IP address;
• determine geographic coordinate data associated with the prefix route;
• identify location data of a set of facilities within a specified geographic radius of the geographic coordinate data;
• and
• associate the unsecured sensor with a first facility in the set of facilities in response to determining a distance between geographic coordinate data and the location data associated with the first facility is less than a specified distance threshold and determining that the first facility includes a type of sensor that corresponds to the unsecured sensor.
