Imaging mass spectrometry data processing device and imaging mass spectrometry data processing method

An imaging mass spectrometry data processing device for processing MSn spectrum data obtained by MSn analysis (n is an integer of two or more) at each of a plurality of measurement points within a predetermined region to be measured on a sample, comprising:

• a) an image creation unit for creating a mass spectrometry image illustrating signal intensity distribution at a specific mass-to-charge ratio of the region to be measured or a part of the region to be measured based on the MSn spectrum data;
• b) a region-of-interest setting unit for setting a plurality of small regions as regions of interest on the mass spectrometry image or on an optical image corresponding to the region to be measured, wherein the regions of interest include a plurality of measurement points;
• c) an MSn spectrum acquisition unit for
• acquiring an average MSn spectrum of each of the plurality of regions of interest by averaging MSn spectra of the plurality of measurement points in the each of the plurality of region of interest, or determining a typical MSn spectrum of each of the plurality of regions of interest among MSn spectra of the plurality of measurement points in the each of the plurality of region of interest, and
• acquiring a calculated MSn spectrum by addition or subtraction of the average MSn spectra or the typical MSn spectra at the plurality of regions of interest;
• and
• d) a compound identification unit for identifying a compound existing in the plurality of regions of interest based on similarity between the calculated MSn spectrum and MSn spectra stored in a spectrum library.
