Abstract
Techniques for forming a specialized low-latency local area network with sensor modules are described. These sensor modules are respectively attached certain parts of a human body. Sensing signals or data from sensing modules are combined in a designated module, referred to as hub module, responsible for communicating with an external device. The hub module establishes a communication session with each of the remaining sensor (satellite) modules, where the session may be established over at least one channel. The hub switches proactively to another channel when there is any downgraded performance in the channel.

A method for capturing motion performed by a user, the method comprising:
- generating sensing signals from a plurality of sensor modules respectively attached to different parts of a body, at least one of the sensor modules acting as a hub module and the rest of the sensor modules acting as satellite modules, and each of the satellite modules including a microcontroller, at least an inertial sensor and a transceiver for intercommunication with the hub module;
- generating sensing data at a predefined frequency from the sensing signals when the user makes the motion;
- collecting in the hub module the sensing data from the satellite modules;
- combining the sensing data from the satellite modules with the sensing data generated within the hub module;
- transporting wirelessly to an external device designated to derive the motion of the user and facilitate a comparison between the derived motion with stored motion made by another person to illustrate a difference between the motion made by the user and the stored motion.
A system for capturing motion performed by a user, the system comprising:
- a plurality of sensor modules, respectively attached to different parts of a body, generating sensing signals from, at least one of the sensor modules acting as a hub module and the rest of the sensor modules acting as satellite modules, and each of the satellite modules including a microcontroller, at least an inertial sensor and a transceiver for intercommunication with the hub module;
- each of the sensor modules generating sensing data at a predefined frequency from the sensing signals when the user makes the motion;
- the hub module configured to collect the sensing data from the satellite modules, combine the sensing data from the satellite modules with the sensing data generated within the hub module, and transport wirelessly to an external device designated to derive the motion of the user and facilitate a comparison between the derived motion with stored motion made by another person to illustrate a difference between the motion made by the user and the stored motion.
