Blockchain-based auditing, instantiation and maintenance of 5G network slices

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• determining that a first network slice has been newly created in a 5G network environment;
• identifying one or more participants in the first network slice;
• generating a first root block corresponding to the first network slice, the first root block containing one or more contracts and one or more policyIDs, each policyID specifying at least a loss requirements on the first network slice, and wherein each loss requirement is agreed upon between a subscriber and a 5G network provider in the first network slice by writing a contract into the first root block, the contract specifying at least the subscriber, the 5G network provider, and the agreed upon policyIDs;
• transmitting a blockID of the first root block to the one or more identified participants in the first network slice;
• sequentially committing, via one or more participants in the first network slice, a plurality of new blocks to a first blockchain beginning from the first root block, wherein the plurality of new blocks comprise auditing information collected by the one or more participants in the first network slice;
• storing the first blockchain in a blockchain network, the blockchain network comprising a plurality of disparate blockchains;
• retrieving, from the blockchain network, desired auditing information for the first network slice by obtaining the blockID of the first root block corresponding to the first network slice and traversing the first blockchain from the first root block to obtain the desired auditing information;
• identifying one or more new participants in the first network slice;
• and
• transmitting a notification to the one or more new participants, wherein the notification includes a request to join as a non-validating node in the first blockchain.
