Abstract
A lens element worn in front of an eye of a person includes a refraction area having a first refractive power based on a prescription for correcting an abnormal refraction of the eye of the person and a second refractive power different from the first refractive power and a plurality of at least three optical elements, at least one optical element having an optical function of not focusing an image on the retina of the eye so as to slow down the progression of the abnormal refraction of the eye.
Claims15
A lens element for wearing in front of an eye of a person comprising:
- a refraction area having a first refractive power corresponding to a prescription for correcting an abnormal refraction of said eye of the person and a second refractive power different from the first refractive power;
- and
- at least three optical elements, at least one optical element of the at least three optical elements having an optical function of not focusing an image on a retina of the eye to slow down progression of abnormal refraction of the eye,
- wherein the at least three optical elements are configured so that along at least one section of the lens element, a mean sphere of the at least three optical elements increases from a first point of the at least one section towards a peripheral part of the at least one section by at least 0.5D, and decreases from a second point of the at least one section towards the peripheral pan of the at least one section by at least 0.5D, the second point being closer to the peripheral part of the at least one section than the first point.
The lens element according to clam 1, wherein the lens element is divided into five complementary zones, a central zone having a power being equal to the first refractive power and four quadrants at 45°, at least one of the four quadrants having a refractive power equal to the second refractive power.
