Abstract
A detector device for detection of unauthorised objects or substances. A support base receives at least one foot covered by its shoe, of an individual to be controlled. The device is adapted to detect stratification by vertical stacking, in the sole, by detection of successive echoes following emission of waves towards the sole. The device is also adapted to define a signal representative of the estimated height of the sole. Furthermore the device is for operating a standardisation of the detected vertical stratification signal on the basis of the signal representative of the estimated height of the sole. By dividing the detected vertical stratification signal by the signal representative of the estimated height of the sole so as to obtain a signal of vertical stratification for a standard height unit.
Claims17
A detector device comprising:
- a support base configured to receive at least one foot covered by a shoe comprising a sole;
- at least one wave emitter configured to emit waves toward the sole;
- at least one wave receiver configured to detect successive echoes of the emitted waves, each echo being associated with a receipt time representative of stratification by vertical stacking of materials in the sole;
- means configured to generate a signal representative of a height of the sole;
- and
- a processor configured to normalize the receipt time of each echo as a function of the signal representative of the height of the sole so as to obtain normalized receipt times for a standard height unit.
A method for detection of unauthorised objects or substances, comprising:
- emitting waves from a detector device toward a shoe positioned on a support base, the shoe comprising a sole;
- detecting successive echoes of the emitted waves, each echo being associated with a receipt time representative of stratification of vertical stacking of materials in the sole;
- generating a signal representative of a height of the sole by one of i) a capacitive measurement, ii) a measurement obtained by transducers by transducers, iii) analysis of an image obtained by a camera, and iv) a measurement obtained by a microwave sender/receiver;
- and
- normalizing the receipt time of each echo as a function of the signal representative of the height of the sole so as to obtain normalized receipt times for a standard height unit.
