Abstract
PVT1 exon 9 is overexpressed in aggressively tumorigenic prostate cancer cell lines and prostate tumor tissues. This exon provides a diagnostic tool for the detection and monitoring of aggressive prostate cancer. Several small interfering ribonucleic acids (siRNAs) are disclosed that are useful for treating prostate cancer.
Claims4
A method of producing an analyte, the method comprising sequential steps of:
- obtaining a sample of prostate tissue;
- extracting ribonucleic acid (RNA) from the prostate tissue;
- performing quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) on the RNA to amplify a PVT1 exon 4A sequence given by SEQ ID NO:
- 36 or a PVT1 exon 4B sequence given by SEQ ID NO. 37, the qPCR generating replicated fragments that are useful as analytes.
