Provided herein is a lubricant comprising a compound of Formula I: wherein R1 and R2 are independent and have the structure selected from —(CF2O)x(CF2CF2O)y(CF2CF2CF2O)z(CF2CF2CF2CF2O)w—, x, y, z and w are selected from an integer from 0 to 30; p, and q are selected from an integer from 0 to 3; A and B are independent and have the structure selected from: —(CH2CH(OH)CH2O)jH, and j is an integer selected from 0 to 3.

A lubricant composition comprising one or more compounds of Formula I:
- wherein
- R1 and R2 are independent and have the structure selected from —(CF2O)x(CF2CF2O)y(CF2CF2CF2O)z(CF2CF2CF2CF2O)w—;
- x, y, z and w are independently selected from an integer from 0 to 30;
- p, and q are independently selected from an integer from 0 to 3;
- A and B are independent and have the structure selected from:
- —(CH2CH(OH)CH2O)jH, and
- j is an integer selected from 0 to 3.
