Abstract
Clathrate hydrates and methods of their production and separation are described herein. Methods of using the clathrate hydrates for energy storage are also described herein. Further described herein are hydrogen storage devices.
Claims19
A method of producing a clathrate hydrate, comprising:
- providing a multiphase segmented microfluidic flow in a channel of a microreactor, wherein one phase of the multiphase segmented microfluidic flow is an aqueous phase and another phase is an inert oil phase;
- adding hydrogen gas and a secondary guest molecule to the flow;
- and
- forming the clathrate hydrate under hydrate forming conditions.
