Abstract
A movable, tarp enclosure system includes a movable carriage having a main body and plural primary support wheels connected to the main body, at least one of the wheels being disposed at a first vertical level and at least one of the wheels being disposed at a being vertical level. The system also includes a support rail having a first and second support walls, the upper surfaces of which are respectively engaged by the carriage wheel(s) disposed at the first vertical level and at the second vertical level for movably supporting the movable carriage on the support rail.
Claims18
A movable carriage for a movable, tarp enclosure system having a tarp cover, support rails, a plurality of substantially U-shaped or semi-circular-shaped bows connected to and supporting the tarp cover, and a plurality of the movable carriages connected to lower ends of said bows and which move along the support rails, the movable carriage comprising:
- a main body including a plate member which extends substantially vertically;
- plural primary support wheels rotatably supported on the plate member and configured to engage and roll along upper surfaces of one of the support rails while supporting the movable carriage on the one support rail;
- and
- at least one guide wheel connected to the main body, the at least one guide wheel being smaller than the primary support wheels and configured to engage the one support rail for guiding movement of the movable carriage as the movable carriage moves along the one support rail supported by the primary support wheels;
- wherein
- at least one of the primary support wheels is disposed at a first level on the plate member and is configured to engage a first upper surface of the one support rail when the movable carriage is operatively connected to the one support rail, and
- at least one other of the primary support wheels is disposed at a second level on the plate member and is configured to engage a second upper surface of the one support rail when the movable carriage is operatively connected to the one support rail, the second level being below the first level.
A support rail for a movable, tarp enclosure system having a tarp cover, a pair of support rails, a plurality of substantially U-shaped or semi-circular-shaped bows connected to and supporting the tarp cover, and a plurality of the movable carriages connected to lower ends of said bows and which move along the support rails, the support rail comprising:
- a main wall which extends substantially vertically;
- a first support wall which extends substantially perpendicularly from an upper portion of the main wall, and an upper surface of the first support wall is configured to be engaged by first support wheels of the movable carriages as the movable carriages move along the support rail;
- a second support wall which extends substantially perpendicularly from an intermediate portion of the main wall, and an upper surface of the second support wall is configured to be engaged by second support wheels of the movable carriages as the movable carriages move along the support rail;
- and
- a shielding wall which extends substantially perpendicularly from a lower portion of the main wall and which blocks foreign matter from moving upwardly toward the support walls,
- wherein the first support wall, the second support wall and the shielding wall extend parallel to each other.
In combination a movable carriage and a support rail for a movable, tarp enclosure system having a tarp cover, support rails, a plurality of substantially U-shaped or semi-circular-shaped bows connected to and supporting the tarp cover, and a plurality of the movable carriages connected to lower ends of said bows and which move along the support rails, the combination comprising:
- a movable carriage including:
- a main body including a plate member which extends substantially vertically;
- plural primary support wheels rotatably supported on the plate member and configured to engage and roll along upper surfaces of support walls of one of the support rails while supporting the movable carriage on the one support rail, wherein the primary support wheels include at least one first primary support wheel disposed at a first level on the plate member and which is configured to engage a first upper surface of one said support wall of the one support rail when the movable carriage is operatively connected to the one support rail, and the primary support wheels include at least one second primary support wheel disposed at a second level on the plate member and which is configured to engage a second upper surface of another said support wall of the one support rail when the movable carriage is operatively connected to the one support rail, the second level being below the first level;
- and
- at least one guide wheel connected to the main body, the at least one guide wheel being smaller than the primary support wheels and configured to engage the one of the support rails for guiding movement of the movable carriage as the movable carriage moves along the one of the support rails supported by the primary support wheels;
- and
- a support rail including:
- a main wall which extends substantially vertically;
- the one said support wall which extends substantially perpendicularly from an upper portion of the main wall, and the upper surface of the one said support wall is operatively engaged by the at least one first primary support wheel disposed at the first level on the plate member when the movable carriage moves along the support rail;
- the other said support wall which extends substantially perpendicularly from an intermediate portion of the main wall, and the upper surface of the other said support wall is operatively engaged by the at least one second primary support wheel disposed at the second level on the plate member when the movable carriage moves along the support rail, wherein the support walls of the support rail extend parallel to each other.
