## Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing ATPase inhibitor factor 1 (ATPIF1) as an active ingredient for the prevention or treatment of diabetes or diabetic complications, and to a pharmaceutical composition containing ATP1F1 as an active ingredient for prevention or treatment of obesity. The composition containing ATPIF1, according to the present invention, has a diabetes treatment effect by promoting sugar absorption in muscle cells and improving insulin sensitivity, and has an obesity prevention or treatment effect by effects of suppressing fat synthesis in fat cells and promoting the browning of fat cells.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for preventing or treating a diabetic condition in which diabetic retinopathy is not present, comprising administering a peptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, further comprising administering insulin or an insulin analog.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the diabetic condition is type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the diabetic condition comprises at least one selected from diabetic nephropathy, hyperlipidemia, and fatty liver.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the peptide promotes insulin sensitivity.
