## Abstract

Pharmaceutical compositions are disclosed that includes a therapeutically effective amount of a purified viable gram negative bacteria and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pharmaceutical compositions are formulated for topical administration. Methods of treating atopic dermatitis using these pharmaceutical compositions are also disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A kit, comprising:
a) a first container comprising a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises at least one strain of Roseomonas mucosa isolated or propagated from skin of a donor subject, wherein the at least one strain of Roseomonas mucosa is a viable, commensal organism and present in an amount sufficient for reducing growth of Staphylococcus aureus on skin of a subject in need thereof, and wherein the pharmaceutical composition is lyophilized; and
b) instructions for reconstituting the pharmaceutical composition for topically applying to the skin of the subject.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The kit of claim 1, wherein the donor subject does not have atopic dermatitis.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The kit of claim 1, wherein the first container further comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The kit of claim 3, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier comprises sucrose.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The kit of claim 3, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is sucrose.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The kit of claim 1, further comprising a second container.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The kit of claim 6, wherein the second container comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The kit of claim 7, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier comprises a cream, gel, foam, ointment, or liquid.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The kit of claim 8, wherein the liquid is water.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The kit of claim 1, wherein the at least one strain of Roseomonas mucosa is present in the pharmaceutical composition in a total amount of 104 to 1012 colony forming units.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The kit of claim 1, wherein the at least one strain of Roseomonas mucosa comprises 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 strains of Roseomonas mucosa.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The kit of claim 11, wherein the at least one strain of Roseomonas mucosa comprises 3 strains of Roseomonas mucosa.
