Abstract
A base station and terminal use methods of obtaining synchronization and system information in a wireless communication system. An operation of a base station includes generating a synchronization signal to be transmitted through a Synchronization Channel (SCH), generating a broadcast signal to be transmitted through a Broadcast Channel (BCH), and transmitting repetitively the SCH and the BCH by performing beamforming on the channels with different transmission beams.
Claims19
A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting system information, wherein the system information includes information for indicating a number of downlink signals using transmission beams in a synchronization period,
- generating a first downlink signal including a broadcast signal and a synchronization signal;
- and
- transmitting the first downlink signal by using a first transmission beam in the synchronization period,
- wherein the broadcast signal is scrambled based on a beam index of the first transmission beam in the synchronization period, and
- wherein the beam index of the first transmission beam is identified based on a time position of the first downlink signal in the synchronization period.
A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving system information, wherein the system information includes information for indicating a number of downlink signals using transmission beams in a synchronization period,
- receiving a first downlink signal transmitted by using a first transmission beam in the synchronization period, the first downlink signal including a broadcast signal and a synchronization signal;
- and
- identifying a beam index of the first transmission beam in the synchronization period based on the first downlink signal,
- wherein the broadcast signal is scrambled based on the beam index of the first transmission beam, and
- wherein the beam index of the first transmission beam is identified based on a time position of the first downlink signal in the synchronization period.
A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
- at least one transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the at least one transceiver and configured to:
- transmit system information, wherein the system information includes information for indicating a number of downlink signals using transmission beams in a synchronization period,
- generate a first downlink signal including a broadcast signal and a synchronization signal;
- and
- transmit the first downlink signal by using a first transmission beam in the synchronization period,
- wherein the broadcast signal is scrambled based on a beam index of the first transmission beam in the synchronization period, and
- wherein the beam index of the first transmission beam is identified based on a time position of the first downlink signal in the synchronization period.
A terminal in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
- at least one transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the at least one transceiver and configured to:
- receive system information, wherein the system information includes information for indicating a number of downlink signals using transmission beams in a synchronization period,
- receive a first downlink signal transmitted by using a first transmission beam in the synchronization period, the first downlink signal including a broadcast signal and a synchronization signal;
- and
- identify a beam index of the first transmission beam in the synchronization period based on the first downlink signal,
- wherein the broadcast signal is scrambled based on the beam index of the first transmission beam, and
- wherein the beam index of the first transmission beam is identified based on a time position of the first downlink signal in the synchronization period.
