Abstract
In some embodiments, the present invention provides a recombinant protein comprising an affinity tag configured to attach the recombinant protein to a silicate surface, fused to a hydrogen sulfide scavenging enzyme.
Claims4
A method, wherein the method scavenges hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, or any combination thereof, from a liquid within a reservoir defined by a solid silicate surface, the method comprising contacting the solid silicate surface with a catalytically effective amount of a recombinant protein, wherein the recombinant protein catalyzes the oxidation of the hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, or any combination thereof, to a sulfur containing oxidation product, and wherein the recombinant protein comprises an affinity tag configured to attach the recombinant protein to a silicate surface, fused to a hydrogen sulfide scavenging enzyme, and wherein the recombinant protein comprises the protein having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 2.
